Flintoff is most loved England cricketer

More than his pivotal role he played in England's famous 2005 Ashes victory, Andrew Flintoff will always be remembered for something that's becoming rare among modern-day cricketers. What's endeared him to the fans world over is his sporting attitude.

"My favourite Flintoff moment was in the Ashes series four years ago at the end of the Oval Test, when he went across to (Australia's) Brett Lee and kneeled down to console him. It typifies Flintoff. He played whole-heartedly, when he played he gave everything but he played with the right spirit as well," said former England off-spinner John Emburey.

"He's the most loved cricketer here and I am sure he will get grand farewells at all the grounds in the remaining four Tests. England will be much weaker without him. He is among the fastest bowlers in the world and even half-fit is much better than most of the guys," said Farokh Engineer.
