After boxing, it is now time for some real wrestling. Plans for International Premier Wrestling (IPW), an event to promote local talent, were unveiled yesterday. Legendary Indian wrestler Dara Singh graced the occasion.

Rajiv Kashyap, the promoter of the event, said that Indians are excited to watch wrestling, citing examples of the hardcore following for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) has on television.

IPW would not only promote wrestling within the country but also present people an opportunity to watch it live. The Indian Professional Wrestling Championships will get underway on October 2 at Andheri Sports
Complex.

"IPW will be on the lines of WWE and TNA. It will be staped on a grand scale where we will have Indian wrestlers along with international ones battling it out," said Kashyap.
