He's the only driver other than Sebastian Vettel to have won two races this season. However, he is still 82 points behind Vettel in the Driver's Championship table. He is also the only World Champion in the F1 paddock who has a World Champion for a team-mate. But in the seven races that they both have finished, he finished ahead of his teammate five times.

He was accused of over-driving and being over-confident in his approach when he crashed into his teammate in the Canadian Grand Prix. And by now you would've figured out that I am talking of the former Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton.

The list doesn't end there. He has been pulled up by the FIA Stewards and been given reprimands more than most other drivers in this F1 season. And of course, he did go over board when he accused FIA for hisu00a0 constant 'pulling up' because he is 'black'. But that is Lewis Hamilton for you, fast on track and faster off it!
The 2011 Formula1 season has to be one of McLaren's most see-saw season. They were way off the pace in pre-season testing and many including their drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button had predicted doom for themselves this season. However, the multiple World Champion team used their experience and resources to turn their car around quicker than most teams could imagine and clinch a podium finish in the first race of the season in Australia.

One must admit that the Red Bull has been the fastest car since the start of the season, but McLaren and Lewis Hamilton were the only pair to beat a dominant Red Bull and Vettel as early as the third race of the season in China. With two wins and two podium finishes in the first 10 races this season, Hamilton lies third in the Championship after the two Red Bull drivers with 134 points and only 5 points off Mark Webber in second place.

Of the two wins this year, his win in Germany last weekend is more memorable. I must admit that I'm not a Lewis Hamilton fan, but his speed and performance at the Nurburgring circuit did make me sit up and take notice. The Hamilton magic started pre-qualifying where he publicly declared that his McLaren car wasn't fast enough to fight for pole or victory in Germany. As a contrast, or what you may also call a foot-in-mouth, Hamilton managed to qualify second and only four hundredths of a second behind the Red Bull of Mark Webber, the closest the McLaren has ever been to the Red Bull in qualifying this season.

He complimented his qualifying performance by a great start in the race on Sunday followed by two decisive overtaking maneuvers on Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso to clinch his second win of the 2011 season, making me often wonder if his pre-race comment was to mis-lead the opposition.

Taking cue from his German GP performance, Hamilton and McLaren are both aware that they still don't have the fastest car on the grid and with Ferrari and Alonso's second place finish last weekend the battle for the top spot is going to be a three way fight till the end of the season.

Hamilton has won two races out of four inu00a0 Hungary but has qualified on pole only once. As for McLaren, they have won at the Hungaroring nine times, which is also more than any other team/constructor on the grid. So do I think Hamilton and McLaren can challenge for victory in this Sunday's race? Most certainly, YES!
