Karun Chandhok is to make his Team Lotus racing debut this weekend.
Chandhok will replace Jarno Trulli for the German Grand Prix, with the race his first since being ousted by Hispania Racing midway through last season.
The Indian driver competed in 10 grands prix during Hispania's maiden campaign prior to stepping aside and eventually being taken on as a test and reserve driver at Lotus.

Team principal Tony Fernandes has confirmed Chandhok's promotion is a one-off event for now as they are committed to re-signing Trulli for next year.
Fernandes, however, feels it is incumbent on his team to give the likes of Chandhok an opportunity.
"Ever since I first met Karun I have been impressed with his whole demeanouru00a0-- he is talented, passionate, committed and he brings great energy to the whole team," said Fernandes.
"I am delighted we are giving him the chance to add even more value to us in the cockpit over a whole race weekend.
"For Formula One to continue to develop globally we need to keep creating new opportunities for talent from around the world to reach the top, and Team Lotus will continue to do its best to support that."
With regard to veteran Italian Trulli, Fernandes added: "He has been extremely accommodating in stepping to the side for this race and our commitment to him is unwavering."
