Eight has been quite a wait, but the Cricket Club of India (CCI) is finally taking a cricket team to the United Kingdom after eight years. The team had a send-off at the Cooch Behar Room of the club last evening. The team comprising 16 players leaves on July 9 and is back on July 22. It has players ranging from 18 years to 48 years and is a mix of experience and talent.
CCI president Sevanti Parikh who would also be in the UK to watch the team, told the squad: "Cricket is a gentleman's game where you have ethics, pleasure and bonding. Exhibit this in the fullest measure so that your hosts know that they played against gentlemen of the first order. Play to win but never lose sight of what you should not be doing. Make us hold our heads high with pride."
