Shahid Afridi left red-faced as fans skip his photo invitation in Karachi

Pakistan player Shahid Afridi had to suffer a huge embarrassment when not even a handful of fans turned out as he invited them for autograph and group photo with him at National Stadium, Karachi on Sunday.

According to The Nation, Afridi waited for 10 minutes but the situation didn't improve and he had to leave red-faced and described lack of attendance due to poor law and order situation and Peshawar blast.

Many termed this cold shoulder response as a result of on Afridi's consistent poor performances; otherwise the ground could have witnessed pack to capacity in only a matter of time, the report said.

Afridi said that as a senior player, he wanted to contribute for the team and country and did not want to take things for granted and become a liability.

He hoped that Pakistan would perform well at UAE pitches and bounce back from the second Test loss against Zimbabwean team, the report added.u00a0
