"I don't want to recall that fateful tour." Hughes said over the phone from Perth yesterday. Hughes' side lost 0-2 to a strong Indian team led by Sunil Gavaskar in the six-match Test series.u00a0

However, the 1979-80 team manager, Bob Merriman said: "The current Australian team is a good, strong team, but lost to a better side."

Hughes was also the last Australia captain before Ricky Ponting to suffer defeats in all Tests of a
seriesu00a01982-83 in Pakistan.
