Indian sub-continent will be ready to host World Cup: Lorgat

International Cricket Council (ICC) chief Haroon Lorgat has said that the Indian sub-continent will be ready to host next month's 50-over World Cup, although he that admits five grounds are yet to be completed.

The final is scheduled to be played on April 2 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, but the venue is still a building site at the moment.

"Five stadia are still to be completed, but there are no alarm bells ringing and I'm sure they will be ready well before the World Cup," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Lorgat, as saying.

The ICC chief also dismissed safety concerns for the two-month tournament to be hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh from February 19.
