However, Mohd Adeeb, who scored a sparkling double hundred (218) on the first day of the Harris Shield Elite Group tie against runners-up IES Raja Shivaji Vidyalaya (Dadar) at Cross Maidan yesterday, hoped his performances will help him win back his parents' support.

"My relations with abbu (Wasiul Hasan) and ammi (Farzana) haven't been the same ever since I decided to come to Mumbai (in 2008) to play cricket. They want me focus on studies, but I wanted to become a cricketer.
If I consistently score well, I hope to win back their support some day," Mohd Adeeb, who hails from Mau district in Uttar Pradesh, told MiD DAY yesterday.

The 14-year-old hit 34 fours and two sixes to help Anjuman reach 351. IES Raja Shivaji were 36-3 at close of play. IES' Omkar Satardekar was the star bowler claiming nine wickets for 138 runs.

Mohd Adeeb currently stays at his school friend's house after his uncle in Kalina too was irked by his passion for cricket.
