A deadly building collapse in Vasai, Maharashtra, has left two dead, including a one-year-old child and nine others injured. The rear portion of the Ramabai Apartment caved in at midnight, crushing a nearby chawl. NDRF and fire brigade teams worked overnight in desperate rescue operations as panic spread among residents. Authorities are investigating negligence and structural safety failures behind the tragedy. 

A routine police response turned violent in Bhayandar on Friday evening when constable Kashinath Bhanuse was brutally attacked with a knife. Bhanuse, who was in plain clothes, had rushed to Babu Bhai Mistry Chawl in Shiv Sena Galli after reports of a heated dispute. But instead of diffusing the situation, he became a victim himself—stabbed by two men, identified as Babu Nepali and Dilip Bhimbahadur. Senior Police Inspector Jitendra Kamble acted swiftly, ensuring the accused were arrested immediately.
