23 December,2023 01:03 PM ISTFollowing months of wrestlers’ protests against the then Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Sanjay Singh, aide of Brij Bhushan, was elected as the new president on Dec 21. Meanwhile, the protesting wrestlers were extremely unhappy with the appointment of the new chief. Expressing displeasure over his appointment, Indian wrestler Sakshee Malik broke down and declared ‘quitting’ from wrestling. On being asked about Sakshee Malik retirement from the gamer, Brij Bhushan Singh said he had nothing to do with it. Notably, the wrestlers have been protesting against the former WFI chief since months over sexual harassment allegations.

The wrestler also added that they are going through a difficult time, which no one will understand. She also appealed the media to not spread false news and asserted that Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and she are still in this fight together.
