Ukraine has launched a targeted overnight drone assault on Russian oil platforms in the Caspian Sea, striking Lukoil-owned energy infrastructure in a move that signals a widening of the battlefield far beyond the traditional frontlines of the war. The Ukrainian military confirmed direct hits on the offshore platforms, though a full damage assessment remains underway. Drone footage released by Kyiv shows precision strikes on critical energy assets, while operational details remain limited due to security concerns.
