Pathaan marked the comeback of Shah Rukh Khan after four years to the silver screen. The movie collected a record-breaking ₹ 55 crore at the Indian box office on the first day of the release. Pathaan had crossed Rs 106 crores from releases worldwide for day 1. It has broken the worldwide opening day record for a Hindi film. Pathaan is now the "biggest opener" in Hindi cinema. The film, co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles, pushes KGF Hindi, War and Thugs Of Hindostan down from their previous positions. Pathaan, released on January 25, witnessed audiences in huge numbers at theatres for early morning shows.
