Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on December 22 mocked MPs of Bharatiya Janata Party over Parliament Security Breach incident. He said that the two youths, carrying smoke canisters jumped into the Lok Sabha, earlier this month because they were jobless. The security breach happened on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack. Two people--Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D--jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour, released yellow gas from canisters, and shouted anti-establishment slogans before being overpowered by the MPs.

Following the suspension of Opposition Parliamentarians, INDIA Bloc leaders staged a protest march on Dec 21. The protest march was held from Parliament complex to Vijay Chowk. Opposition has been demanding a statement from Union Minister Amit Shah on the Parliament security breach incident. The protest march was held amid the presence of heavy security personnel. Notably, a total of 143 MPs were suspended from Parliament over causing a ruckus and disrupting proceedings. While holding a protest against the recent controversy of MPs suspension from the Parliament which arose due to a ruckus created by the Opposition on the Parliament Security Breach issue, LoP Rajya Sabha & Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge says, "The PM is speaking everywhere including Varanasi but not in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on (Parliament security breach incident). We condemn it. This is also a (breach of) privilege case due to the violation of rules. The ruling party people are disturbing the Parliament proceedings." Yesterday, it was the first time that the Parliamentary Affairs minister along with 120 MPs was standing in Rajya Sabha and the MPs were shouting slogans. This shows they don't have faith in democracy."

A day after the Parliament security breach, PM Modi held a key meet with senior Cabinet Ministers on December 14. The opposition demanded statements in both Houses from the Government over the security lapse. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a key meeting to chalk out future course of action in the Parliament. On December 14, a major security breach incident took place during Parliament Winter Session. Security lapse in the Parliament took place during the live proceedings of Lok Sabha. Two intruders jumped in the Lok Sabha from visitors’ gallery. Delhi Police have arrested 4 accused in this regard and two accused are still absconding.
