Mumbai city experienced intense rainfall, with over 300 mm recorded in six hours from 1 am to 7 am on July 08, as reported by the BMC. Due to the heavy rains, Mumbai witnessed massive Waterlogging in many parts of the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for parts of central Maharashtra on July 7 and 8. Maharashtra is likely to see very heavy rainfall over the next five days. The heavy rain also led to the cancellation of some trains by the Central Railways. The BMC assured that all its departments are actively working to manage the situation. They also urged residents not to spread or trust rumors. The city's civic body emphasized the ongoing efforts to address any issues caused by the rainfall and advised everyone to stay informed through official channels for accurate updates.
08 July,2024 11:43 AM ISTA massive fire broke out in an eatery at Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus railway station on 13th December. The blaze erupted in the Jan Aahar canteen on platform number 1 of the LTT station at 2.45 pm. The fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire by 3:30 pm. The passengers were evacuated from the station and two vehicles of the fire brigade rushed to the spot to douse the flames. The video of the incident circulated on the social media in which black smoke rising above the roof of the railway station could be seen. Officials said that nobody has been injured in the incident of LTT Railway Station Fire.
13 December,2023 04:17 PM ISTOn July 11, 2006, a string of powerful bombs ripped through Mumbai's commuter trains system in the evening rush hour, killing nearly 200 people and bringing India's financial capital to a standstill. Seven blasts were triggered in the span of 11 minutes in the first-class suburban train compartments. The first bomb went off shortly after 6.20 pm in the Western Railway suburban train running from Churchgate to Borivali. The bomb exploded when the train was between Khar and Santacruz stations. Another bomb exploded at the same time in a local between Bandra and Khar Road. Most of the commuters in these trains were executives, businessmen, employees of government and private establishments and college students. Five more explosions occurred in Jogeshwari, Mahim Junction, Mira Road-Bhayander, Matunga-Mahim Junction and Borivali. 11 July,2023 10:07 AM IST | MumbaiThe Central Railway (CR) has taken a 27-hour megablock from November 19 night to dismantle the British-era Carnac Bridge between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Masjid Bunder station in south Mumbai. More than 37 lakh commuters are likely to be affected by the special block. Central Railway's Mumbai suburban network operates over 1,800 local trains on the 'Harbour' and 'Main' lines, which originate in south Mumbai.
