Speaking on the on-going Sonu Nigam's Jet Airways controversy, singer Kavita Krishnamurthy supported her counterpart, saying that suspension was a harsh decision. Sonu Nigam recently made headlines for performing on medley of songs on the Jet Airways flight, following which the airline has suspended the entire cabin crew of that flight.

A Mumbai to Delhi Jet Airways flight was diverted to Ahmedabad after a hijack threat letter was found in the plane’s bathroom on Monday. The letter stated ‘The aircraft is covered by hijackers, should not land in Delhi, should be flown straight to PoK’. The letter also mentioned about the presence of explosives in the cargo and threatened to blow the aircraft if it lands in New Delhi. The flight which had over 120 passengers, including seven crew members, landed safely in a remote bay at the Ahmedabad airport
