Hundreds of fitness freaks took over the streets of Times Square in New York. The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated worldwide annually on June 21 since 2015, after PM Modi's proposal to dedicate a day to celebrate the ancient Indian fitness routine was formally accepted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Speaking to ANI, British Deputy High Commissioner Christina Scott said, “It was really a good session led by Dr S Jaishankar and I had the privilege to join him...it is India's gift to the world and it was really a pleasure to be here today..." Lindy Cameron, British High Commissioner to India said, “It is fantastic to be here in Delhi and practise Yoga on International Yoga Day with Dr S Jaishankar...it really is India's gift"
