The Government of India on Friday announced that June 25 will be remembered annually as "Constitution Murder Day" or the ‘Samvidhan Hatya Divas’’ in remembrance of the Emergency declared by the Indira Gandhi government in 1975. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the day would serve as a reminder of the significant sacrifices endured by those who faced the severe hardships of the 1975 Emergency, highlighting their immense contributions.

India's mega event, the Lok Sabha Elections, wrapped up on June 1st after seven phases spread across 44 days. A whopping 15 million polling staff journeyed across the country to set up approximately 1 million polling stations, including in remote areas like villages, hills, deserts, and conflict zones.
