The state of Himachal Pradesh has been grappling with severe landslides and damage which has resulted from incessant rains in the region. Relief and rescue operations are in progress in Samej village near Rampur in Shimla district after severe cloudbursts struck various areas of Himachal Pradesh. The resulting landslides have caused extensive damage and destruction throughout the hill station. Several rescue team members have been trapped due to impassable roads, hindering their efforts to carry out rescue and recovery tasks. So far, six people have lost their lives in this devastating landslide. On August 1st, parts of the Kullu-Manali Highway were washed away in the cloudburst. Restoration work is currently underway.

Heavy rains have caused the Mandakini river to flood, washing away roads and electric poles in Sonprayag and Gaurikund, which are on the way to the Kedarnath Yatra Route. Since Wednesday evening, at least six people have died in rain-related incidents across Uttarakhand. Many pilgrims and tourists are now stranded on the Sonprayag-Kedarnath road due to the severe weather. Cloudbursts, landslides and other natural disasters have affected Kedarnath Yatra Route. Search and rescue efforts are in full swing in Samej village, Shimla, after a severe cloudburst hit Himachal Pradesh. Since the night of July 31 to August 1, 36 people have been missing due to the Himachal cloudburst and subsequent flash floods that caused extensive damage. The army built a temporary footbridge to help rescue teams cross the river and reach affected areas. Teams from NDRF, SDRF, police, and Home Guard are all working together to find the missing people and provide aid. The situation is critical, and rescue operations are ongoing to support the affected community and locate those who are missing.

After the flash floods triggered by cloudbursts in many districts of Himachal Pradesh, rescue and research operations to save lives are still on. The NDRF team successfully carried out a rescue operation and evacuated workers of the Malana Power project. NDRF inspector Prem Negi said, "Thirty-three workers of the power project have been rescued out of which four workers were stranded in the Manala tunnel...Special equipments were used to carry out the rescue operation and evacuate the victims...An 18-member team carried out the operation..."

A cloudburst in the Samej Khad area of Rampur, Shimla, caused major disruption on 1st of August. Due to Himachal cloudburst, more than 50 people are missing, and two bodies have been recovered so far. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has arrived at the scene to help with search and rescue efforts. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu has called a meeting with officials to coordinate the rescue operations and address the situation. Ther's a lot of political crisis going on in Hiamchal Pradesh right now. Six Congress MLAs who cross voted in favour of the Bhartiya Janta Party during the Rajya Sabha election, have been disqualified by Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania. The detained MLA's include Rajinder Rana, Sudhir Sharma, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Devinder Kumar Bhutoo, Ravi Thakur, and Chetanya Sharma. With the six rebel MLAs disqualified the strength of the house comes down from 68 to 62 and the halfway mark is 32. With the loss of 6 MLAs the Congress now has 34 MLAs and the BJP with independents has 28. The fortunes of the Congress will now rest on its ability to keep the rest of its flock together.
