Greece was paralysed by a nationwide strike as workers protested a government bill that could extend working hours to 13 a day. Trains, ferries, taxis and schools were shut down as thousands marched in Athens, chanting “No to slavery!” Unions say the bill will crush workers’ rights, while the government insists it offers overtime pay and flexibility.
