With a belief that bathing in the holy river on Buddha Purnima and worshipping the river gives the benefit of immense virtue, devotees across the country reached the banks of River Ganga in Haridwar in Uttarakhand. Devotees also took a holy dip at Sangam in Prayagraj. The festival is prominently celebrated among the Hindus and Buddhists. Parts of Delhi-NCR woke up to heavy rain on July 26, bringing respite from hot and humid conditions. Due to the downpour, parts of Delhi-NCR experienced waterlogging. Meanwhile, several areas of Noida witnessed severe waterlogging. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded in Noida’s Echotech area due to a rise in the water level of the Hindon River on July 25. The vehicles were seen almost submerged in the water making it ‘Water Parking’. Several houses were also submerged in the low-lying areas on July 23. Light to moderate rains were witnessed in parts of the NCR, including Noida, in the early hours of July 25. Amidst heavy rainfall in parts of the country, the IMD has issued alerts for Maharashtra, Haryana, Chandigarh, UP, Rajasthan, HP, and Uttarakhand.

Under construction Aguwani-Sultanganj bridge in Bihar’s Bhagalpur collapsed in the Ganga river on June 04. The moment when the bridge collapsed was caught on video by locals Moreover, in 2022, a large portion of the bridge collapsed due to a heavy storm. Further details awaited. Since May 2, 2015, the inauguration of this bridge, which is being built at a cost of 1710 crores, has failed 7 deadlines so far.
