Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal is also in the US leading a trade delegation to push for a quick, mutually beneficial trade agreement.

During a press interaction, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar addressed U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham’s proposed bill to impose a 500&#37 tariff on Russian oil imports, saying India has communicated its energy security concerns directly to the U.S. and is monitoring the situation closely. He emphasised that India maintains a consistent and principled stance on global terrorism, unlike many nations that react selectively. Dr. Jaishankar underlined the importance of motivating global partners to act firmly against terrorism and support collective diplomacy.
