In an exclusive interview with Mid-day.com, ace choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant spoke about the criticism the song Besharam Rang, the hit song from Pathaan featuring Deepika Padukone, received. Vaibhavi spoke about changing times in Bollywood and how each song or genre caters to a certain audience. Each song's requirements change based on a character created by the writer or the director. Given the enthusiastic response of movie-goers in advance booking, industry experts are confident that Shah Rukh Khan-starrer "Pathan" will open somewhere between Rs 45 to 50 crore at the box office. The Yash Raj Films project, which marks Shah Rukh's return to leading men roles after 2018's "Zero", is set to hit cinema halls a day before the Republic Day. The advance bookings for “Pathaan”, backed by Yash Raj Films, opened from January 20. The film is reportedly set to be released across Indian in 5,000 screens. It is a first Shah Rukh Khan film to have 6 am shows.

After a long wait, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham-starrer Pathaan trailer is finally here. Siddharth Anand-helmed film is a treat for every SRK fan who has been waiting for him to charm us on the silver since 2018. Pathaan is scheduled to release in the theaters on January 25. The trailer begins with a voiceover by Dimple Kapadia explaining a private terror group’s mission against India, spearheaded by John Abraham. To fight him, there is Pathaan, who has to end his ‘vanvaas’.Shah Rukh enters as Pathaan, and we can see lots of action between SRK and John. Deepika is also seen supporting Pathan as a soilder with powerful action scenes. Apart from SRK, Deepika and John we can also see Ashutosh Rana and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles. There are speculations that Pathaan also features a cameo by Salman Khan.Pathaan has been creating a lot of noise for good and bad reasons. The film’s song “Besharam Rang” was criticised for its unappealing choreography by the audience and later for the colour of Deepika’s costumes.It reached a level where protests were held in some parts of the country against the film’s release. The Censor Board has guided the movie makers to implement changes in the film including the songs and submit the revised version before theatrical release

There was an uproar in Ahmedabad on Wednesday during the promotion of Shah Rukh Khan's film Pathaan. Members of the Bajrang Dal barged into a mall and vandalized the theater. The workers tore the posters of the film Pathaan and threatened not to release the film. The controversy surrounds the movie's newly released song ‘Besharam Rang’. The song features Shah Rukh and Deepika romancing in Spain. Right-wing groups and some BJP leaders have demanded a ban on the song and the film as they feel offended by the saffron colored outfits worn by Deepika in the song. Following the outrage, the censor board has directed the filmmakers to implement a few “changes” in the film including the songs. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres on January 25.
