Bengal Bandh: 2 injured in Bhatpara clash, BJP blames TMC for the attack

Following recent clashes at Bhatpara, two individuals with bullet injuries to the head were admitted to Manipal Hospitals Broadway at around 11:30 am, where they are currently under close supervision in the ICU. This incident occurred amidst allegations from BJP leader Priyangu Pandey, who claimed that TMC supporters attacked his car with bombs and gunfire. Former BJP MP Arjun Singh suggested that there was a deliberate plan to kill Pandey. In response to escalating tensions, the BJP organized a 12-hour 'Bengal Bandh' on August 28 to protest against the Mamata Banerjee government. This Bengal bandh followed a chaotic Nabanna protest where police used lathi charges and tear gas on demonstrators. The West Bengal police also detained several BJP workers during the bandh as tensions between the BJP and TMC continue to rise.
