The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Mumbai and neighbouring regions, predicting extremely heavy rainfall. The non-stop rain led to widespread waterlogging in areas such as Kurla, Andheri, BKC, and Chembur. The heavy rain significantly impacted transportation in Mumbai. Local train services are operating at reduced speeds due to poor visibility, and several trains were suspended. Flight operations at Mumbai airport are also heavily affected, with numerous flights delayed, diverted, or canceled.The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has recorded 46 incidents of fallen trees and branches, six short circuits, and eight cases of property damage.
25 July,2024 05:12 PM ISTA severe cyclone is expected to make landfall in parts of West Bengal and Bangladesh on May 26. The India Meteorological Department issued a warning against the Cyclone named ‘Remal’. The cyclone is expected to be accompanied by extremely heavy rainfall and strong winds in West Bengal. The cyclone’s formation was initiated by a low-pressure system over the southwest and west-central Bay of Bengal, which intensified into Cyclone ‘Remal’. IMD forecasts suggest that the cyclone will continue to gain strength, posing threats of heavy rainfall, strong winds, and storm surges along its path. The administration is fully prepared and NDRF teams have been deployed in the vulnerable area. Authorities have urged residents in these areas, to brace for adverse weather conditions starting from May 26. Meanwhile, Kolkata Airport Authority on May 25, announced the suspension of flight operations for next 21 hours. IMD said that the current warning for Cyclone Remal is in effect until May 28, but it may be extended if the situation requires.

Delhi Police top officials, NIA team and Forensic Team soon reached the spot and investigated the matter. Israel Embassy confirmed that around 5:10 pm there was a blast at close proximity to the embassy. The Delhi Police has intensified its probe into a low intensity Israel embassy blast that occurred near the Israel Embassy here and sources said two youths were caught on camera walking on the road close to the spot shortly before the explosion. The police have also beefed up security in the national capital after Tuesday's blast near the embassy in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave, an official said.

The IMD has issued a 'Red' alert for Tenkasi, Thoothukudi, Tiruvaneli and Kanyakumari districts. 40 lakes in the Kovilpatti area of Thoothukudi district have reached full capacity. According to IMD, heavy rain was expected to occur in one or two places over Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, and Thoothukudi. It has been raining continuously since the morning of December 17 in Kovilpatti and areas of Thoothukudi. On December 19, thunderstorms and lightning are likely to occur at one or two places in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu government has taken precautionary measures to ensure people's safety following the Tamil Nadu rains.
