In this new video of Mid-Day`s vox pop series, we asked Mumbaikars about what kind of issues do they face while travelling in local trains on a daily basis. Mumbaikars shared their experiences and challenges while traveling on local trains, a lifeline of the city. Commuters highlighted overcrowding as a primary concern, especially during peak hours, making it difficult to board and find space. Many expressed frustration over the lack of seating and the discomfort of standing for long periods. Safety emerged as another critical issue, with concerns about pickpocketing and harassment. People  also pointed out the need for better hygiene, citing unclean compartments and platforms. Watch video to see their response on the local train challenges they face everyday. 

As one more AC local train is set to be inducted into service on its main line, Central Railway (CR) is working on an idea for `easy access to all`.  Should pass holders of general suburban trains be allowed to take a single journey on AC locals by paying the difference in fare? Central Railway is mulling on the idea and will send a proposal to the rail board.
