Rishabh Pant Airlifted To Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital For Further Treatment

Star India batter Rishabh Pant was airlifted to Mumbai from a Dehradun hospital on Wednesday evening for the treatment of ligament injuries in the knee and ankle he has suffered in a car crash. Pant (25), who was injured in a car crash on December 30, was taken to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in suburban Andheri upon arrival here, sources said. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to shift Pant to Mumbai by air ambulance as he was not in a position to fly by a commercial airline. The cricketer will be treated by noted sports orthopaedic surgeon Dinshaw Pardiwala here. Pant survived a horrific car accident when he was driving from Delhi to his hometown Rourkee but lost control on the NH-58 highway before hitting the divider.

DDCA President Shyam Sharma gave a big update on Rishabh Sharma’s Accident, which was different from what the DGP had told earlier. Rishabh Pant got severely injured in a road accident near his hometown Roorkee. He was hospitalized after surviving a fatal accident. According to eyewitnesses, Rishabh's car collided with the divider and caught fire. The doctors said Pant suffered injuries to his forehead, back and leg. The batsman was alone in the car at the time of the accident, and according to Uttarakhand Police Director General Ashok Kumar, he broke the windscreen to get out of the burning car. Pant was not included in either the ODI or the T20I squad and the BCCI media release didn't clarify if he was injured, rested or dropped. The wicketkeeper-batter didn't feature in the ODIs in Bangladesh as well before returning for the two-match Test series.

Indian southpaw Rishabh Pant met with a horrific car crash on December 30 while returning from Delhi to Roorkee. Bollywood actors Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor arrived at Max Hospital in Dehradun to meet the cricketer. Pant has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in right knee. He has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. His condition remains stable. Rishabh Pant's plan to surprise his mother ahead of the new year turned into a horrific accident after his car collided with a road divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway in the wee hours on Friday. The star India wicket-keeper batter was lucky to survive serious injuries due to his alertness, jumping off his Mercedes in the nick of time as the car went up in flames after hitting the divider. Dr. Sushil Nagar, who was the first to attend to Pant in the emergency ward of Saksham Hospital near Roorkee, said the cricketer didn't suffer any fracture but there was a ligament injury on his knee which would require further investigation. "When he was brought to our hospital, he was fully conscious and I spoke to him. He wanted to surprise his mother and was going back home," Nagar told PTI.He suffered big bruises on his back but Nagar said those are not burn injuries."The injuries happened because he jumped out of car by breaking the window of his car as soon as it caught fire. As he landed on the side of the road on his rear, the skin peeled off. But those are not burn injuries and not very serious."
