British Prime Minister David Cameron Thursday said he was open to meeting all elected leaders, including Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who is the BJP's prime ministerial nominee for the 2014 polls
Explaining why he was not meeting Modi during this visit, Cameron said: "It's a short visit. My first priority was to see Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and then I wanted to see Kolkata, so I'll meet Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee."
"We have started some relations with Gujarat already. The connection and engagement is there," he said.
The people of India will decide who becomes their prime minister in 2014, he said.
"In the end it will be for the people of India to decide who they elect," said Cameron.
