Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel is historic and a landmark event in a number of way. But one feature of his trip sure stands out – the hotel room he is staying in.

As per reports published in the Times Of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been housed in the most secure hotel on the planet. Named the King David Hotel, the suite the Prime Minister is living in is said to be extremely secure and even has a pod that disengages in case of a bombing. In a statement to TOI, director of operations Sheldon Ritz, said, “"His suite is secured against bomb attacks, chemical attacks, everything.” In-charge of the PM’s entire visit, Ritz added, “"If the entire hotel is bombed, PM's suite will be untouched, will come down in a pod." Ritz also mentioned that they had cleared out 110 rooms of the hotel to house the Prime Minister and his delegation. Known to have been the temporary home for every US president in this century, right from Clinton, Bush, Obama and Trump, Ritz says it is a privilege to be housing Mr Modi.

The hotel has also made sure to take care of Modi’s vegan food habits, and have supplied the Prime Minister with eggless and sugarless cookies in the suite. "Even the flowers are what the delegation from India requested for,” added Ritz. The Prime Minister’s suite also has a kitchen attached just in case Mr Modi has a craving. In this regard, Ritz said, “I believe he is eating Gujarati food. We got a list of food ingredients necessary to cook Indian food for the Prime Minister. The ingredients are all kosher, because in this hotel all food has to be kosher." As for the kitchen, Ritz says it is being ruled by Rina Pushkarna, who is in-charge of cooking up food suitable for Modi’s palate. "It’s all very spicy, Our hotel has been filled with the aroma of spices these last few days. Wonderful," Ritz said.

A lover of Indian food, Ritz himself has been indulging in Indian food. He says it reminds him of his childhood in Dublin, where he went to an Indian-run hotel management school. Apart from obvious security concerns, Ritz says there is another good reason for the hotel to be as secure as it is, "Our hotel is part of Dan Hotels, and one of the owners is Michael Federmann, whose company, Elbit Systems makes the drones and the avionics. We are the best"
