A move that can strengthen cross border ties, India and Pakistan will soon open bank branches in their respective countries

Karachi: India and Pakistan are soon going to open bank branches in their respective countries.

The comment was made by Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan T C A Raghavan while speaking to the business community at the head office of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).


Raghavan added that India and Pakistan would sign an agreement next month to open bank branches in Mumbai and Karachi.

He said that the much-awaited banking links would give a boost to trade and commerce, the Express Tribune reports.

According to the report, he added that India wanted to provide all possible support to the business community of Pakistan to help the two countries increase bilateral trade.
