<p><a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/delhi-articles" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Delhi experienced the warmest night in 12 years</a> on Wednesday with the minimum temperature settling at 35.2 degrees Celsius, over eight notches above the season&rsquo;s normal, the weather office said.</p>
<p>The previous warmest night recorded in the city was in June, 2012 when the minimum temperature settled at 34 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday, Delhi recorded the warmest night of this season at 33.8 degrees Celsius.&nbsp;</p>
<p>With no respite from heatwave conditions, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/delhi-water-crisis-aap-mp-accuses-haryana-s-bjp-of-politicizing-of-water-crisis-23354894" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">hospitals in Delhi-NCR are seeing an influx of patients</a> with complaints of heat stroke and exhaustion. Doctors have advised the elderly and immuno-compromised patients to avoid stepping outdoors.</p>
<p>Last month, Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj had announced that the Delhi government-run hospitals will reserve two beds each for heatstroke patients while five beds will be reserved at the LNJP Hospital.</p>
<h2>5 deaths reported in Delhi over two days</h2>
<p>As Delhi continues to be in the grip of a heatwave with maximum temperature &ldquo;feeling&rdquo; like 51 degree Celsius as per the Met Department, the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital has reported five deaths due to suspected heatstroke while at least 12 people, mostly daily wage labourers are in critical condition battling for their lives. According to Dr Ajay Shukla, Medical Superintendent of RML Hospital, 11 people were admitted on Tuesday with heat stroke, the highest reported this season. He said since the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/delhi-high-temperature-impacts-flight-operations-at-igi-airport-23354853" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">beginning of the heatwave</a> about a month ago at least 45 people have been admitted till date with heat-related illness.&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Atishi threatens indefinite strike</h2>
<p><a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/delhi-water-crisis-atishi-writes-to-pm-modi-says-will-go-on-indefinite-fast-from-june-21-if-situation-not-resolved-23354824" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Delhi Water Minister Atishi</a> on Wednesday said that she has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the water crisis in the national capital and threatened to go on an indefinite strike from June 21 if the issue is not resolved within a couple of days.</p>
<p>Addressing a press conference here, Atishi said Delhi is grappling with a water crisis since Haryana is not releasing the capital&rsquo;s share of water.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Yesterday, Haryana released 513 MGD of water to Delhi as against 613 MGD. One MGD of water is for 28,500 people. This means that water was not released for over 28 lakh people,&rdquo; she added.</p>
<p>The minister said people are not only battling heatwave conditions but also water shortage.</p>
