Youngster mowed down near PCMC chief's bungalow

A college student lost his life in Pimpri, after being hit by a tempo, which was driving on a no-entry road around 9.30 am yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Aniket Ishwar Bharati (20), a resident of Sadashiv Peth, who was studying MCA in Modern College, and was also working in a private oil processing company. Notably, the mishap occurred near the bungalow of Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal commissioner Shrikar Pardeshi.

According to cops, Aniket was passing driving his Hero Splendor (MH 16 DD 3843) from Morwadi towards KSB Chowk in Pimpri area. There is a no-entry section on this street near the bungalow of the PCMC chief.

A speeding tempo ran into Aniket’s bike, and he was seriously injured, dying on the spot. The tempo driver, Harshad Landage (27), a resident of Chikhali area, has been arrested by Pimpri police.u00a0
