Nafees and Anees S Dagar are the 20th generation from their family to practise Dhrupad music

The youngest practitioners of Dhrupad music of the celebrated Dagar tradition, Nafees S Dagar and Anees S Dagar will be be leaving for Bangladesh as part of delegation of artistes through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.



The 11-day visit will include vocal music performances from Chittagong, Khulna, Dhaka, and other major districts of Bangladesh.

The duo is the 20th generation of the Dagar tradition of music and are living in Pune with father and famous Dhrupad maestro, Sayeeduddin H Dagar.

"We have just returned from a long tour of Europe and will be going to Bangladesh on Thursday," said Nafees S Dagar.
