Karimnagar (Tel): A 15-year-old boy here allegedly committed suicide after he felt "humiliated" for not being able to pay his school fee, police said today.

The 10th-grade student, Edula Santhosh Reddy, a resident of Abbapur village in Dharmaram mandal, had recorded a selfie-video narrating the entire incident that led him to take the extreme step, they said.

Reddy, had gone missing from home on September 30 following which his parents filed a missing FIR at Dharmamaram police station, said Circle Inspector, Sultanabad police station, Tula Srinivas Rao.

In the meantime, Peddapally Railway police found an unidentified body on the railway tracks at Peddapally station that night, which was later moved to the mortuary at government hospital, Rao said.

During investigations, the body was shown to Reddy's parents, who identified it as their son, he added.

The boy was studying at a private school at Julapally mandal headquarters in Karimnagar.

According to the boy's parents, last Tuesday, the school authorities made Reddy stand outside the classroom along with some other students for long time, as they failed to pay the school fee.

In the purported video, the boy is seen saying he felt humiliated at school for not being able to pay the fees and that is why he was taking the extreme step, police said.

The boy also said that no one is to be held responsible for his death, they added.

Police have recovered the mobile using which the boy took the selfie-video narrating the ordeal, the CI said, adding that the body has been sent for post-mortem and further probe was underway.
