A 48-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room in Govind Nagar area here, police said today

Kanpur: A 48-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room in Govind Nagar area here, police said today.

Haradaya Naryan, an alcoholic, was in an inebriated state last night when he went to his room and hanged himself from the ceiling. He was found hanging by his family members, they added.

On receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and recovered the body which has been sent for post-mortem. Police is investigating into the matter, they added.
