As many as 11 people were killed in different parts of the state due to the squall which uprooted trees, telephone and electricity poles.

As many as 11 people were killed in different parts of the state due to the squall which uprooted trees, telephone and electricity poles.


About 11 people died in the state, which includes four deaths from Ambedkarnagar, two each from Faizabad and Lakhimpur and one death was reported from Sitapur yesterday, police sources said.



Three persons were injured in Ambedkarnagar, while four persons were injured at Lakhimpur, they said. The weather also disrupted the movement of trains, as Gorakhpur-Dehradun express, Lucknow-Farrukhabad passenger and Amrapali express were running behind the schedule.
