"A crowd barged into the house, ransacked it and then set it aflame", a senior police officer said. As the mob turned violent, police used force to disperse them and bring the situation under control.

Kamalesh was pulled inside a white WagonR by four boys while waiting for a bus to go to college. He was kidnapped from near Nankasar Gurdwara in Sonia Vihar's E-block. After beating him with iron rods, the perpetrators stabbed him repeatedly and then threw him out of the car near Usmanpur jungles leaving him to bleed to death.

According to his family, Kamalesh had a tiff with an automobile dealer in the area over a bike deal. Kamalesh had apparently paid money for the bike but the dealer could not deliver on time. That led to arguments between them. Kamalesh's family claimed that the dealer was behind their son's murder.

Police are still investigating the matter and the suspects are still at large. However, Tuesday's violence saw prompt police action. "We have arrested 12 persons for rioting in the area and situation is under control," an officer said.
