The State Eligibility Test (SET), a mandatory requirement to become a lecturer, was held on Sunday at 127 exam centres across the state.
As the exam schedule collided with the Pune International Marathon, a few candidates had some trouble reaching their centres on time.
“The exam was held smoothly in the state, without any hurdles. In the city too I have not received any complaints, despite the marathon, or for any other reasons, during my visits to many exam centres in and around Pune,” said Dr Narendra Kadu, registrar of University of Pune (UoP), the organiser of
SET.
In all, 83,831 candidates from across the state appeared for the exam, of which 15,000 took the test in the city. University Grants Commission (UGC), the conducting authority of SET, changed the pattern this year from partly objective to entirely objective.
“The exam was well-managed, and at least I have not found any errors in any of the three papers. This is my third attempt, and compared to previously cracking one descriptive paper of 200 marks in just two hours, solving three objective papers is quite unproblematic,” said a candidate, who wished to remain nameless.u00a0
