Shiv Sena slams unhygienic RTO office

Shiv Sena activists, lead by MLA Mahadeo Babar staged a protest inside the office of Regional Transport Office chief Arun Yeola at Sangam Bridge demanding better toilet facilities for women and maintenance of the RTO premsies.

"The RTO is poorly maintained and is probably one of the most unhygienic government offices. The infrastructure also needs to be improved and better waiting and sitting facilities for visiting citizens should be provided," said Babar.

Yeola said the proposals were progressing gradually. "We have formed an internal committee to study other possible developmental works that can be undertaken at the head office here. We are also regularly co-ordinating with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for building the toilets and the Public Works Department (PWD) for renovating the building", said Yeola.
