Unhappy over the imposition of Central rule in Meghalaya, senior NCP leader PA Sangma on Friday held discussions on the issue with Opposition Leader in the Lok Sabha LK Advani and CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat here.

The senior NCP leader met Advani and held talks with him on the imposition of President's rule in Meghalaya. Sangma drove to AKG Bhavan, the CPI(M) headquarters, where he apprised Karat about the situation in Meghalaya. The meeting lasted about 20 minutes.

Leaders of Meghalaya Progressive Alliance (MPA) led by Sangma rushed here yesterday and are meeting various party leaders to garner support against the imposition of President's rule terming it unwarranted and unprecedented.

The MPA leaders are also exploring possibilities of moving the Supreme Court to challenge the UPA government's decision.
