Preetmandir Adoption row: Trustee bail plea hearing deferred

Preetmandir managing trustee J S Bhasin's hearing on bail application was deferred till today.

Bhasin was remanded in magisterial custody after special judge J D Kulkarni had rejected his bail application on August 13, and posted the case for next hearing on August 16.

Bhasin's Counsel Advocate Rohit Tulpule had argued before the court that organisations Sakhee and Advait Foundation had filed this complaint for personal gain. Advocate Tulpule had said before the court that none of the adoptions were made by threatening biological parents at knife-point.

Central Bureau of Investigations Counsel Vivek Saxena arguing against the bail application said that the link of Joint Secretary level official of Central Adoptive Resources Agency has surfaced in the initial investigation.

Advocate Saxena said that the accused is an influential person and he could influence the victims so the bail should not be granted to him. Judge Kulkarni deferred the hearing on bail application for today.
