Brother and sister attempt suicide; transferred to YCM hospital without preliminary aid given by rural hospital
Both were soon admitted to Narayangaon Rural Hospital, but the family members allege that the doctors without administering the correct medication sent them to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, Chinchwad.
Dr Sonekar, the on duty doctor at YCM Hospital said, "The brother-sister duo were admitted here at 12.30 am. The boy's condition is critical because he was not given proper medication. The other hospital sent the patients here without even informing us and they were not even checked thoroughly."
MiD DAY learnt that the girl's condition was stable and was sent to Sassoon Hospital after medical authorities believed that she would receive better medical care there. Both the siblings were taken to Sassoon after being administered the correct medication," the doctor added.
A relative of the family said, "They took this drastic because of a very petty issue. The two had a fight after which Mahesh consumed poison."
Upset about it, her mother scolded Sarita, which led to Sarita taking this drastic step. "We just hope they get well soon," the relative added.
