Dupes MPTA institute of Rs 1 lakh

Man pockets money meant for students

In yet another case of cheating registered at the Deccan Gymkhana police station, officials of the MPTA education institute on Karve Road filed a complaint against a supervisor working with a private company in Khadki, for duping the institution of Rs 1.02 lakh.

The accused was identified as Mahesh Anand Prachand from Akola. Institute Director Sheshadri Bhirdikar lodged the case against Parachand.

Officials said Bhirdikar gave Parchand the amount for distributing it amongst students of the BSc Industrial Science course, as their scholarship for the on-the-job training. But Parchand pocketed the money instead, said Bhirdikar in his complaint.

Assistant Inspector S S Salunke is investigating the case. u00a0
