Prima facie it appears that the killer was known to the victim, said a senior police officer. Additional deputy commissioner of police IB Rani said that Ram Nath Singhla had a business in Chandigarh; he lived with his family in Safdarjung area of south Delhi. He had been missing for two days and a complaint had been lodged at Shakarpur police station on Monday night. Sunita, a vegetable vendor, discovered the body and called the police. A case of murder has now been lodged at Shakarpur police station, said the official.Meanwhile, a police source said that preliminary investigations suggest a property dispute could be the motive.
