Last night, as the brothers were closing the shop; four men on two motorbikes approached them, and pushed them inside the shop.

They closed the shop, and tied their hands and legs, and asked for keys and money. As Ghusharam tried to comply, Jiyaram stopped him, and threatned to call the police.

This angered the thieves, and they slashed Jiyaram'su00a0 hands, and a knee, andu00a0 made away with 600 gms of gold, worth Rs 8 lakh.

'Ignored our advice'

Just two days before the robbery, an inspector from the Hennur police station had warned them to install a CCTV, because of the increased robbery incidents in the city.

"They didn't take the inspector's advice and lost a huge amount. Three persons robbed them, while the fourth kept a watch. Jiyaram has filed a complaint. The investigation is on," Basavaraju added.
