With an aim to effectively deal with the problems related to the marriages involving non-resident Indians (NRIs), the Haryana government has decided to launch an awareness campaign in schools and colleges across the state.

"The Haryana government has decided to organise a series of seminars in schools and colleges so as to create an awakening among the youth about pros and cons of marrying NRIs," a spokesman of the Haryana employment department said.

He said the seminars would commence in schools from the next academic session, and in colleges from July onwards.

The seminars and debates would be conducted in all girls' colleges and girls' senior secondary schools followed by co-educational colleges and senior secondary schools in districts of Ambala, Panchkula, Karnal, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Hisar, Sirsa, Fatehabad and Mewat, the spokesman said.

Professional, engineering, nursing, polytechnic colleges and industrial training institutes would also be included in the drive, he added.u00a0
