Enter the Coomaraswamy Hall and you will be greeted by holy chants as Pattachitra paintings of Lord Krishna from West Bengal are being unfurled by the folk artists.


Exhibits at previous Hast Karigar exhibitions

Linger on and they will also explain to you some of the multiple stories depicted on handpainted scrolls. This welcome is preludeu00a0 to a series of stalls that offer miniature paintings from Rajasthan, Gond tribal paintings, Madhubani paintings from Bihar, Kauna grass craft from Manipur and Orissa, tribal and thread jewellery from Karnataka and Rajasthan, Manipuri black pottery, Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh,u00a0applique work from Rajasthan and Orissa, wooden toys from Rajasthan and silver jewellery from Himachal Pradesh.

Hast Karigar exhibitions aim to redefine the traditional skills of artisans to recreate a market that showcases Indian tradition and heritage while staying true to the present day requirements of connoisseurs.

The handicrafts and handloom products on display are priced between Rs 30 and Rs 20,000. Most of the products are eco-friendly and safe for use.
