A 16-year-old girl sustained burn injuries on her back after some unidentified boys threw a chemical-mixed water balloon towards her around 1 pm yesterday near Nehrunagar in Pimpri.

The injured teen has been identified as Lalita Parihar, a resident of Nehrunagar in Pimpri. She was admitted and treated at the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital. Pimpri police have registered a case against unknown accused under section 326 (b) of the Indian Penal Code.

Cops said Lalita had gone out for some work in the afternoon. Some strangers attempted to put colour on her face and, simultaneously, she was hit on her back by the balloon.
