Acting on a tip off the police arrested Jehangir Ahmad Malik and recovered a pistol from his possession.
Three more members-Rafiq Ahmed Sheikh, Mukhtar Ahmad Tantray and Shahid-were also arrested and some ammunition was also recovered.
"The gun with which they have fired AK-56 along with magazine... were recovered. There were two pistols and some ammunition which were also recovered," said Liyaqat Khan, police stations house officer of Shopian.

Huge cache of ammunition recovered in Poonch

Meanwhile, security forces recovered a huge cache of ammunition from Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Sunday.
In a joint search operation launched by army's 39 Rashtriya Rifles and the Central Reserve Police Force near Line of Control in Salani area of the district, they recovered 1,500 rounds of AK rifles, 399 rounds of Pika rifles and 17 detonators.
"We have seized a huge cache of ammunition including rounds of AK rifles and Pika rifles from militants. It is quite clear that they wanted to infiltrate into India," said FH Shah, Station House Officer (SHO), Mendhar.
