Five's Company

Watch KART, a band that celebrates camaraderie live in concert tomorrow night

Their music is cool, contemporary and soulful. They are five friends who like to jam together under the name Katpadi Parvati and the Rumple Teaser a.k.a. KART.u00a0 Our advice: Don't focus on the name, (the name's an inside joke with the band which they refuse to reveal) just listen to their music. These five musicians will be coming together to celebrate their friendship through music. KART, the live band from our very own city is ready to sweep you off your feet as they perform live tomorrow night.

u00a0"We have known each other for years and thought that this was the best way to express our feelings and friendship," says Naveen Thomas Joseph, the guitarist of KART. He also plays the guitar for Galeej Gurus, another popular city band. "Our music is impromptu and the performance depends how we react to each other on stage," he said.

Born in 2009, the band features Sherin Jacob on vocals, Bryan Richard on bass, Jason Zachariah on keys,u00a0 Wilfred Demoz on drums and Naveen Thomas Joseph on guitar. However, band members prefer keeping it as an inside secret as they refuse to divulge his identity. KART comprises members, who play for other local bands in Bangalore. Playing covers of artists like James Morrison, Coldplay and others, Kart is all set to give you the sound of eclectic music with a dash of rock, pop, contemporary sound and more.

"I myself have no idea what I am going to perform on stage. It has to happen then and there," says Sherin Jacob, the vocalist of KART. She also heads the Music Department at Christ University.

However, the band believes in maintaining the distinct style of each member as they churn out the best of the tunes. "Each of us has a distinct style. We blend it and yet maintain originality. That is what makes it interesting and special," says Naveen.
